Okay let's move to question eight point one which is allocated two marks. Let me just indicate that is allocated to marks so the question says define the term electric field at a point. So in this case we'll be defining the term electric field at a point so this is some of the information that you can easily find from either your textbook or from lessons such as this one where we provide solutions to previous exam papers.
So electric field at the point, so it's important to indicate that an electric field at a point because that's what we're defining. We're providing the definition of electric field at a point so it's different from when they said just define electric field. So the reason why I started with that line is because they said define electric field at a point so this electric field at a point is the electrostatic force experienced per unit positive charge placed at that point.
It's as easy as it is so if you come across a similar question you can just give the same definition. It doesn't matter in which grade you are, you could be in grade 10, grade 11 or grade 12 for as long as you are asked the same question you can just provide the same answer.
The definition from grade 10 grade, 12 or even in grade 11 should be one and the same thing. It doesn't necessarily mean that because you are in grade 11 the definition that you give in grade 12 it could be different from this one you can just give. What is important in this case is just to be careful of what you're being expected to provide.
